- Getting arrested doesn’t just impact one person — it ripples through families, friends, and whole communities. In a system designed to punish and control, the risks tied to arrest are real and often devastating, especially for Black, brown, undocumented, and marginalized people in Phoenix, where police violence and incarceration rates are among the highest in the country.
- That’s why MLAZ, the National Lawyers Guild Central AZ Chapter, and BLM Phoenix Metro are hosting a critical Know Your Risks session, this time focused on what happens after an arrest, and how we can respond collectively to protect our people.
