This comes after months of high profile arrests by Phoenix Police at protests against police violence that followed the murder of George Floyd and Dion Johnson.

Roberts didn’t show up during the Phoenix uprising; he didn’t sit down with organizers and activists to better understand what was happening.

DPS interfering with this memorial demonstrates a blatant indifference to the life of the man they killed just earlier this week and insensitivity to the mourners who wanted to gather in memory of Dion Johnson. This signals a national problem of police accountability that has sparked global protests the entire week.
